Plein Aire Paintings

  1. Molly, your application of luminous and vibrant color give your paintings a spirit of their own. The pops of yellow peppering the edges of the trees and shrubs are successful in achieving that quality of illumination. Within the darkest part of the leaves, I think the addition of a green with a bit of red mixed in with it would provide you with more depth. Overall, you did a great job!

  2. These are different for you - the yellow underpainting works will and brightens the whole palette. forms are reminiscent of Cezzane - which is also a change for you.
