Here are my four plein air studies. For the first piece, I used a combination of watercolor and gouache, and I also spent time rendering the final product indoors. For the remainder of the pieces, I wanted to accomplish a loose, sketch-like appearance. I had a lot of fun sitting outside and capturing these snapshots of nature. This was the first time that I have painted en plein air, but I enjoyed it and would like to do more of it soon.

Gracie, you did a wonderful job with the shadows. Your use of cool and warm colors really help to develop the images, especially in the last one.
ReplyDeleteAre you drawing these in with yellow ochre? They have that classic feel. You have a good eye Gracie how will you make your work unique?
